Dalāʾil al-Khayrāt

Fine Ottoman illuminated manuscript,

early 12th century AH / early 18th century AD

A refined Ottoman copy of Dalāʾil al-Khayrāt wa Shawāriq al-Anwār by Imam al-Jazūlī, among the most revered devotional texts in the Islamic world. Written in elegant Naskh in black ink on handmade Eastern paper, comprising 79 folios, in a desirable small format (19.5 × 13 cm).

The manuscript is enriched with delicate gilt illumination and includes two rare gilt illustrations depicting the Prophet’s Minbar and the Tomb of the Prophet, highly sought-after features in Ottoman copies of this work. The text is framed within gilt borders, with marginal annotations reflecting sustained devotional use.

Preserved in its original Ottoman leather binding, decorated with double gilt borders, a central oval gilt medallion (shamsa), gilt corner pieces, and a complete envelope flap (lisān), executed using traditional stamped and blind-tooled techniques.

Very good condition for its age, with minor, honest wear.
